The problem with livin' large, with being a musician and a grown up, with owning property and traveling, is that these things have big egos and demand large portions of life. It's great to have your own house where friends can come and crash and you can yell a lot more than you should, but you will have to clean it often when you don't feel like it. Particularly, you will have to clean it after you have just returned from working all day so that you can afford to have the house in the first place.

I have to work everyday all day to be able to afford to have time off. Problem is, all my time off is occupied time. I have to take time off to go on the road, be crazy, etc. The day I get back home is the day I have to go back to work. That means this summer there are absolutely no days for sitting outside yelling at traffic or watching movie marathons. After I get home from my full time job, I have to write lyrics, make flyers, practice music, clean the bathroom, and hopefully (very hopefully) watch People's Court. It's too much. Most days I just want to lay on the couch and complain about the heat like my roomate.

Most times, my "vacation" doesn't feel like vacation at all. Touring is fun, but it doesn't make you well rested. It wears me the fuck out. Afterwards I want to lie face down on my floor for exactly three days.

In case you are wondering what I'm doing, I'm complaining about things that are mostly harmless, are no one's fault, and have no visible solution.

Disney World was fun. There is no doubt that in a few years Disney's attention to detail will lead to them creating white fluffy mouse-head shaped clouds that float over the parks while they maintain a pleasant 75 degree temperature year round. The Animal Kingdom is Disney's new park that is basically a large Zoo with rides. For the most part, animals live in an large open environment. There were one group of monkeys living in some trees that were only a few feet away from the walking path. We wondered how it was possible for them to keep these monkeys from running wild all over the parks. There was a tiny stream about 3 feet wide around the outside of their trees. While the monkeys can easily jump 10-15 feet, they are deathly afraid of water, even the three foot stream. The reason they don't escape is that they are too afraid to take the risk of possibly falling in the water. Their own fear keeps them trapped when we can "obviously" see that escape would be easy for them. We shouldn't laugh too hard, all of us 9 to 5'ers.
