The reason that everyone loves harry potter is that his life is not impossibly boring. Harry Potter does not go to school to learn subjects that seem irrelevant to his life like calculus and British literature. Harry Potter spends his time learning about how to take control of his own world (through magic). Harry Potter gets to have adventures, which are different than pre-packages vacations. Best of all, Harry Potter will not be required to take a job casting the same spell for 8 hours everyday for the rest of his life to survive. Of course we all recognize that Harry Potter lives the kind of life that we think would be marvelous fun to live. The thing that we don't realize (which is implied) is that we think this is so wonderful because our lives, as they are supposed to go, are so very boring.
