I missed my return to photography classes because I was playing music and enjoying my life in Florida. But when I made it back, today, we drove to the city of Rosedale, MS. This is the second largest city in our county. It was a the last city in the nation to still use operators to connect calls instead of an automated system. There's lots of old rich white homes, and a port on the Mississippi River. As it turns out, Rosedale has a new mayor. I went to high school with the new mayor of Rosedale, MS. We had a class together. I was a freshman, and he was a late graduating senior. He told on me in class once. I was writing down some of the questions that had been on the test I had just finished taking so that I could warn my friend about them. The bastard squeeled on me to the teacher. That teacher considered it to be a black mark on my character, and it's probably the reason I didn't get in the National Honor Society. These days I don't really want to be a part of something like that, but I still always hated that guy. My high school comrade-turned-mayor showed us the black cemetary he was planning to clean up to "appease the blacks and put a political feather in my hat." Politicians come from a special breed of people. The kind that stab kids who try to help their friends in the back. | ||
